Summer Singles & Mixed Doubles Ladders 2022/23
Tennis ladders give people the chance to play against (and meet) other members in a semi competitive format. Matches can be arranged to fit your own time and schedule and as you move up and down the ladder depending on your results you should find people of a similar level.
We have been running a singles ladder for the past year and we will be kicking off a new season from 1 April. If you are interested in joining this do please reach out to our men’s captain Andy on [email protected].
We are also excited to announce that we will also be launching a NEW mixed doubles ladder from 1 April. This will run as a trial initially until the end of June and then we will take it from there. If you want to play in that you can either enter with a partner or on your own and we will do our best to set you up with someone. If you are interested in the mixed ladder, please also contact Andy on the email address above.

Summer Singles Ladder 2021 - End of Season Report
In late March 2021, when we emerged from lockdown, FCTC kicked off a men’s singles ladder for the first time in several years.
The competition was very well received with a peak of 22 entries over the summer and it proved to give lots of players the chance to meet and play against new people. As a result it’s been decided to continue the ladder and to make it open for all members. It will now a twice yearly event with a “summer” ladder running April-September and a “winter” one running October-March. Details to follow.
The Summer 2021 Ladder ended on 30 September. During this time 65% of matches were won by the challenging player meaning lots of movement in the standings. The “hall of fame” for this season was:
Rohit - wins the “keenest player” award with 10 appearances throughout the season. Well done to him of getting so involved.
Darren - wins the award for highest climber. Having joined the league a week late he started in 21st place but he won 8 of the 9 matches he played and finished the season in fifth.
Andy - becomes the first player to lift the new ladder trophy having successfully defended every challenge he faced over the course of the season
Honourable mentions should also go to Paul P, Marc and Peter who, along with Darren and Andy, managed to achieve an over 75% win record.
